Arrival and Jazz Concert

Once you arrive in Havana you will be transferred to your accommodation.
Our guide will be waiting for you in order to have a brief information meeting where we will explain you the key points you need to know on your first day in Cuba: best concerts during that week, other music venues, top restaurants, Internet access… and the rest of activities scheduled for the rest of your trip.
Tonight you will attend a Jazz latin concert at Jazz Café, located next to the Malecon (sea boulevard).

Percussion workshop and City Tour

A guide from the school will pick you up at your accommodation and take you to the school. There you will have your first music lesson. Today you will learn about the origins and the basic rhythms of Cuban music. You will have your first contact with the Percussion instruments such as congas (tumbadoras in Cuba), timbales, bongos, maracas, güiros, claves, shekere, etc…
After this two hour workshop we will visit the historic center of Havana, where the city tour will begin. During the tour you will visit the most important places of Old Havana including: plaza de S. Francisco de Asis, plaza de Armas, plaza de la Catedral and plaza Vieja.
The tour will end at a restaurant where you will have lunch.
Tonight we will learn more about Timba (Cuban salsa), as we will attend a music concert at “Casa de la Música de Miramar”.
