The National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba is one of the most important and oldest musical institutions of the country.

It has a double function, governing the National Philharmonic of Cuba and to educate and train young musicians in the country in practice. And not only musicians but all the people in general are formed and educated by their master concerts. History of the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba

The National Symphony Orchestra was one of the first creations of the Cuban Revolution. It was officially founded on October 7, 1959, under the direction of teachers Enrique Gonzalez and Manuel Duchesne Cuzán.

Thus, the orchestra meets one of its fundamental objectives, which is the diffusion of Cuban, Latin American and European compositions to its audience. He has over 90 permanent musicians in its workforce, instruments of all households (string, percussion, wind, wood) interpreters, although this number varies depending on the work to represent.

The National Symphony as an educational institution

The responsibility of the conductor is very high, so their preparation is not only aimed at maintaining the rhythm of the composition, but also guarantees a general interpretation of the piece while providing a personal touch.
