Some years ago a new type of music, that for many people cannot be called “music”, has flooded the music market. Reggaeton, is today the preferred genre and is heard by most of young people.

Percussion in Cuba, as we know it today, has its origins in the first African slaves residing on the island.
The National School of Arts (ENA) aka “the City of Arts”, was founded in March 1962 in the west of the capital, at the Cubanacan neighborhood.

The son montuno was born in Santiago de Cuba. It was formed by a mixture, in perfect harmony, of African rhythms mixed with the metric and style of Spanish music.
The Cuban reggaeton appeared few years after its origins in Puerto Rico. But from the very beginning it found a different context.
